Pysdm Ebuild

April 9, 2008 · Posted in Gentoo

I was about to start a new project about a gui interface for fstab. I did a google search and i found

Pysdm
Its a quite interesting program written on python with PyGTK .
There wasnt a Gentoo ebuild so I wrote one for my gentoo machine

Ebuild can be found:

pysdm ebuild

pysdm gentoo buzgilla

I think that your ebuild needs some minor fixes. I have posted them here:
    http://void.gr/kargig/ebuilds/pysdm-0.4.1-r1.ebuild.diff
    http://void.gr/kargig/ebuilds/pysdm-0.4.1-r1.ebuild

Especially the SRC_URI you use is wrong. The others are just enhancements so no extra code (the produced .pyc files) is left on your system when you remove the ebuild from the machine.

apart from that, congrats on the ebuild :D
    keep it up!

unfortunately there is a lack of such gui tools. for instance.. is there any descent gui app for xorg.conf?

of course not. But I guess this tool would help a new user to mount with ease his hard drives without much troubles. Thats a common problem I see when a user installs linux (ubuntu :P ). “Where the #*$ are my files?” :D
